City Manager – Lake Mills, WI (Population 6,200)
Lake Mills is seeking a collaborative and proven municipal leader who will replace the retiring city manager who has served the community for 22 years. Lake Mills is located on the dynamic I-94 corridor between Milwaukee and Madison and combines the best of small-town life with big city amenities in very close proximity. The City is a full-service community, including a municipal electric, water and wastewater utilities, that prides itself on being a great place to live, work, play, learn and visit as well as for providing high quality municipal services. Salary range $100-$115K plus excellent benefits, DOQ. City Manager/Council form of government for over 68 years with five City Council members elected on a non-partisan basis for three-year terms. $21.2 Annual Operating Budget (All Funds). 60 FT and 100+ part-time and seasonal employees. The future emphasis for the next Lake Mills City Manager will be on maintaining the city’s strong financial position and quality services while expanding the city’s tax base and employment opportunities through thoughtful community development and redevelopment projects.
Require Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration or related field; prefer Master’s Degree with five (5) years of progressive municipal management experience. ICMA-CM credential is a plus. Residency is encouraged. Desire a strong skill set in financial management including budget development/monitoring; human resources administration; capital improvement planning and implementation; economic development with an emphasis on downtown development; community planning along with background in effective intergovernmental relations. The successful candidate should possess a high level of both personal and professional integrity; be a team builder and leader in addressing community and municipal organizational issues; possess great listening and constant communication skills; be able to readily resolve conflict and be a passionate public servant.
