Port Edwards is seeking a highly skilled and proven municipal leader, with excellent communication skills, to serve as the next Village Administrator and guide the community in reaching its strategic vision.  Port Edwards is located in the center of the State of Wisconsin, adjacent to the City of Wisconsin Rapids, and within close proximity to the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. A small residential community with a rich history and friendly people. Port Edwards is a special place, known for high quality of life, including low crime, great schools, wide variety of housing choices and recreational amenities. Nestled along the Wisconsin River, the village provides for a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities, both locally and regionally, for hiking, biking, fishing, camping and other year-round activities. Starting salary range $75,000-$85,000 plus excellent benefits, DOQ. Village President and six Board Members elected on a non-partisan basis. $3M total budget including Sewer and Water Utilities, 15 FTE employees.

Qualifications

Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or related field; prefer Master’s Degree with at least 3 years progressive municipal experience. Residency is encouraged. Desire strong communication skills; a background in public works; financial planning; community development; zoning and planning; grant writing; intergovernmental cooperation; and the ability to cultivate positive and productive relationships with the Village Board, staff and community members. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of integrity; innovative leadership; a strong work ethic (commitment to public service); open and positive communication skills; willingness to assist staff in daily tasks and operations.
