Job Announcement

Located 65 miles northwest of Chicago and 45 minutes southwest of Milwaukee, the Town of Linn is seeking an innovative and dynamic administrator who will also serve as its statutory treasurer. Within its borders lie the north and south shores of Geneva Lake, long considered one of the most beautiful lakes in Wisconsin and the Midwest. The town is characterized by high-quality residential development adjacent to very productive farmland and scattered woodlots. The Town’s population more than doubles during the summer months, as it has a considerable number of seasonal property owners. Linn is very focused on preserving its small-town atmosphere, reasonable property taxes, and high quality of life. Hiring salary range $100,000-$110,000 plus excellent benefit package, DOQ. The Town Chair and Four Town Board Members are elected on a non-partisan basis. $5M total annual budget, 25 FT and PT employees. Future emphasis on sound financial management, staff development, maintaining and enhancing intergovernmental partnerships (particularly on joint Fire/EMS services with the city of Lake Geneva), and maintaining a fiscally responsible capital improvements program.

Qualifications

Require a Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, accounting, or related field; prefer a Master’s Degree with progressively responsible municipal administrative and leadership experience. Residency is encouraged but not required. Consideration of candidates with private sector or military experience will be made if they can demonstrate accomplishments that directly relate to the skills required. Desire a strong background in budget development/government finance; governmental accounting; human resources; grant writing/administration, information technology/social media, and contract management. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of both personal and professional integrity, a strong customer service orientation, possess excellent listening skills (seeking first to understand and then to respond), have good conflict resolution/negotiation skills, and have a collaborative style in carrying out governing body policies.
