Located on the scenic banks of the St. Croix River on the western edge of Wisconsin and just 10 minutes east of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area, Hudson is one of the fastest growing communities in Wisconsin and has a range of options for people wanting to live in a suburban and sustainable setting yet close to many urban amenities. Starting salary range $143K-$160K plus excellent benefits, DOQ. Mayor and Six Alderpersons elected on a non-partisan basis with Mayor serving three-year term and Alderpersons serving two-year alternating terms. $25M total annual budget including Utilities. 100 FTE not including volunteer firefighters. Future emphasis on capital improvement planning and execution including enhanced police and public works facilities; continued managed economic growth of the community; continued employee talent attraction and development; intergovernmental collaboration and cooperation and maintenance of sound financial management and organizational development.

Require Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration or related field; prefer Master’s Degree with progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in a municipal organization(s). Desire a strong background in budget development and financial management; capital improvement planning/implementation; human resources administration; intergovernmental relations and strategic community planning. Must be able to develop and cultivate positive and productive relationships with the mayor, city council members, staff and community members and serve as a bridge between city staff and elected officials. The successful candidate should be a dynamic and influential leader; possess a high degree of both personal and professional integrity; be an active listener seeking first to understand then to respond; have a strong work ethic and commitment to public service as well as have a history of stable tenures in previous positions.
