Pepin County, Wisconsin seeks a dynamic and proven leader to serve as its next Administrative Coordinator/Finance Director. The salary range is $106,808 to $137,321 DOQ, plus excellent benefits. Pepin County is fiscally sound with healthy reserves. The County provides a diverse range of programs in areas including public safety, human services, public health and highway maintenance. A $19.4 M total annual (expense) budget supports approximately 100 full-time, equivalent employees. The Administrative Coordinator/Finance Director is appointed by a 12-member Board of Supervisors and reports to the Board’s Administrative Committee. The position is responsible under Section 59.19 of the Wisconsin Statutes for coordinating all administrative and management functions of county government not otherwise vested in law in boards, commissions or in other elected officers. In addition, the position serves as the County’s Finance Director, leading the Finance Department and providing support to the Board and County departments. Immediate priorities for the new Administrative Coordinator/Finance Director include maintaining quality services in light of strict statutory levy limits, attracting and retaining quality employees, and fostering productive relationships within the organization and with other units of local government.

Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration, economics, or a related field. Credentials as a Certified Public Accountant preferred. A minimum of three years of governmental management experience, including budgeting and personnel management, is required. A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Desire a strong background in government accounting and budgeting and a proven track record of success in strategic and capital planning. The successful candidate should be approachable, possess open and positive communication skills, and have a collaborative leadership style. The ability to be flexible in light of changing circumstances and to foster a team approach among various stakeholders are key attributes.
